Costume Design

 Something Rotten

I was one of two assistant costume designers for the University of Colorado Boulder Department of Theatre and Dance production of Something Rotten in Spring 2025. Together, the other assistant designer and I were tasked with putting together ensemble looks for two numbers, "Will Power" and "We See the Light." We used a variety of clothing pieces ordered by the designer, putting them on dress forms in a variety of combinations to create all of the unique ensemble looks.

Something Rotten - "Will Power"

The design concept for this number was to create androgynous looks that were a fusion of modern rave wear and Elizabethan garments worn in an unusual way. The base of the costumes was black and silver with neon embellishments that would stand out under the black light on stage. Each performer had their own unique look. Pictured are preliminary design concepts and performance photos featuring the final designs. (Performance photos by Rachel D Graham)

Something Rotten - "We See the Light"

In this number the ensemble begins in modest Puritan dress, but when they have finally "seen the light" they pull off the tear away clothing to reveal these BDSM inspired red leather outfits. We created both a female and male presenting look for this number, and Brother Jeremiah was given his own separate look.

 Arden of Faversham

During their 2024 summer season, the Colorado Shakespeare Festival put on an Original Practices production of Arden of Faversham. Student costume technicians, including myself, were tasked with designing and costuming the actors for this show. Responsibilities were divided among each of the students and I was assigned to costume Noelia Antweiler, Shunté Lofton, Devi Reisenfeld, and Jacob Dresch. Our Actor Manager, Shunté Lofton, set this production in the 1980's, which gave us a lot of fun costume pieces and styling to play with.
